FridgeSnap helps you scan kitchen photos, save a fridge inventory, and generate dinner ideas from what you already have.

Data We Collect

• Camera and photo content: When you choose to scan, we process the fridge, pantry, drawer, shelf, freezer, or item photos you capture or select. These images may include visible labels, text, and background content.
• Ingredient and recipe content: We process detected ingredient names, categories, quantity estimates, freshness estimates, confidence notes, saved inventory, recipe preferences, generated recipes, saved recipes, and cooked-recipe actions.
• Usage, entitlement, and diagnostic data: We store scan counts, quota status, anonymous app user identifiers, purchase entitlement status, AI token/cost logs, backend errors, and debug records needed to operate paid plans and keep the service reliable.
• Purchase data: Purchases are handled by Apple and RevenueCat. We receive subscription entitlement status, but we do not receive or store credit card numbers.

Data We Do Not Collect for AI Features

FridgeSnap does not record audio, collect transcripts, access contacts, or collect precise location for scan analysis or recipe generation.

How We Use Data

• To identify ingredients from selected kitchen photos.
• To generate dinner ideas from your detected and saved ingredients.
• To save your inventory, recipes, usage history, and subscription entitlement.
• To enforce scan limits, estimate AI costs, prevent abuse, debug service errors, and improve reliability.

Third-Party Providers

• Cloudflare Workers: Hosts the FridgeSnap backend that routes authenticated scan and recipe requests.
• Cloudflare R2 and D1: Store uploaded scan photos, scan metadata, detected ingredients, recipes, usage events, entitlement events, and AI usage logs.
• OpenRouter: Receives selected scan photos and recipe prompts as the AI routing layer, then routes them to the configured model provider.
• OpenAI model provider: Receives selected scan photos and recipe prompts from OpenRouter for the configured model, currently openai/gpt-5.4-mini, to perform ingredient detection and dinner recommendation.
• RevenueCat: Manages subscription entitlement status for StoreKit purchases.
• Apple: Provides App Store distribution, TestFlight, StoreKit purchases, and device permission prompts.

Your Choices

Before FridgeSnap sends scan photos or recipe prompts to OpenRouter or the configured model provider, the app shows an AI Data Sharing consent sheet. If you decline, camera/photo analysis and AI recipe generation stay off. You can review this setting in Settings.

You can delete saved ingredients, recipes, scan history, uploaded scan photos, usage events, and entitlement event history in Settings. Active purchase entitlement fields may be retained as needed to restore or honor an Apple subscription. Contact support@platotools.com for privacy requests.

Freshness estimates and estimated value rescued are approximate. FridgeSnap does not determine whether food is safe to eat, spoiled, allergen-free, or medically appropriate.
